Courtney Bailey Parker is an actor, writer, and literature/theatre professor recently transplanted to the Greater St. Louis area.  She earned her PhD in English Renaissance Literature from Baylor University in 2016, with a research specialty in the plays of William Shakespeare and performance studies. Her writing has appeared in Mississippi Quarterly, Literature and Belief, Cahiers Elisabethains, ANQ, Praxis, and elsewhere. As an actor, she has worked in Austin, Texas and in the Metro Atlanta area. Dr. Bailey Parker is an Assistant Professor of English in Greenville University’s Center for Visual Culture and Media Studies, where she teaches courses in theatre history, Shakespeare, British literature, writing, and dramatic literature.  She also serves as Associate Artistic Director of The Factory Theatre at GU.  Currently, she is at work on a book about theatrical cross-dressing on the Shakespearean stage.
