Courtney Bailey Parker is an actor, writer, and literature/theatre professor based in the St. Louis area. She earned her PhD in English Renaissance Literature from Baylor University in 2016, with a research specialty in the plays of William Shakespeare and performance studies. She also holds an MA in English from Baylor, with a concentration in modern and contemporary drama. Her academic writing has appeared in Mississippi Quarterly, Literature and Belief, Cahiers Elisabethains, ANQ, Praxis, and elsewhere. As an actor, she has worked in Austin, Atlanta, and now St. Louis. Dr. Bailey Parker is an Assistant Professor of English in Greenville University’s Center for Visual Culture and Media Studies, where she teaches courses in theatre history, Shakespeare, British literature, writing, and dramatic literature. She also serves as Associate Artistic Director of The Factory Theatre at GU.
